Personal Mission (1992)

"To leave an indelible mark with these generations. To teach and be taught, to give and receive. A mutual legacy through the art of dance"

Open Letter (2022)

Dearest students, parents & Guardians, renters, Companies, Colleagues and every Spirit who ever walked through my door… after three decades of teaching including Ballet etc. and the last 20 with the Brookline Academy of Dance, I feel only gratitude & love with the happiest and most joyous, life-affirming memories one person could possibly hold. Many know that I would not be the person I am today without the love and honor of the children. I would not possess the level of patience or forgiveness without the lessons the children taught me. Through the hardest of times I was able to come to the Academy and be wrapped in unconditional support, love and understanding from the students and so very many dancers and friends who shared the space in the studios and the building alike. I know that when the building burned down, I felt at peace because I knew that with so many teachers help, including Mr. Mac, the spirit and heart of the original Academy will live on through the students and their legacy. From the bottom of my heart I thank you. Blessings! Ms. Mellissa
